Samsung Wave Galaxy and S play 720p DivX, Wave priced in the United Kingdom
The Samsung S8500 Wave is the world’s first DivX Certified phone on the Samsung HD-I9000 Galaxy S close behind. The Samsung Wave is available for preorder in the UK not long after it appeared in the German online stores.
The Samsung S8500 Wave is the first two exciting new products from Samsung – Bada OS and the stunning Super AMOLED display market.
Also a first for the Wave is the DivX HD Certification – it can play 720p video with the best of them. That’s great and all, it would have been perfect with aa mini HDMI out.
The recently announced Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is to get the certificate, but it will be a while before it hits the market. The Galaxy S is a heavily customized Android 2.1. The S features a Galaxy Super AMOLED screen also, but it is 4 “versus the 3.3″ screen of the Wave.
Both phones pack 5-megapixel camera can capture 720p video and on the cutting edge of connectivity – both feature 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. The Samsung S8500 Wave comes with a 2 GB or 8 GB internal memory, while the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S either 8GB or 16GB packages.
