Android 2.1 for Motorola droid almost ready
The update to the latest version of the Motorola Droid Android is almost ready to give. This reporting sources within the U.S. telecom provider Verizon, which probably is testing update.

The Motorola Droid got some time ago Android 2.0.1. Even most users of the European version, the Milestone, have already received this update. Motorola has already promised that Android would be 2.1 available for the devices. Anonymous sources have reported on Engadget that the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system now runs on the droid, and the test phase is put in motion. The exact version of the Android OS should be 1 version 2.1, which is equal to the update to the Nexus One recently received. This means that the Droid, like Google’s own Android phone, the decision is about multitouch. Google had already turned it in version 3.4 of Google Maps, but now it is also possible in the browser to use multitouch. The droid will not be the 3D animated backgrounds and elements which are in the Nexus One. The home screen would still look the same as in version 2.0.1. However, the new widgets for weather and news are present in Android 2.1 update.
Although the update in the test phase, there is nothing known about a possible release date. Update on the Milestone is also unknown. It is likely that the Milestone later becomes available to Android 2.1, just as happened with the 2.0.1 update.
