O2 to spend hundreds of millions of pounds to fix network
The iPhone is one of the best smartphones around and has the most prolific users of the internet of any smartphone. If you listen to AT&T, the iPhone user is the reason that its network is so shoddy and over taxed in many areas.
When O2 started selling the iPhone in the UK, it quickly found that iPhone users actually use the data plans that are sold with the phones. Rather than laying blame at its user’s feet for using too much bandwidth and threatening to charge them more, O2 did the unthinkable. It apologized to its users for the poor network performance.
O2 then went one better and announced that it plans to spend hundreds of millions of pounds next year to improve its network to ensure that there are no interruptions or slow downs. It’s refreshing to see a wireless carrier take the onus for issues with its network.
